"Harimau mati meninggalkan belang, Manusia Mati Meninggalkan nama"

Which means a person's name reflects their achievements, character, and the memories they create in the lives of others, which may inspire others to continue those legacy.

The Mufti Bill was proposed to curb Wahabism (an Islamic practice known to be rigid in practice and puritanical) and extremism. The bill intends to formalise the position of the Mufti or Islamic jurist of the Federal Territories and present a version of Islam for Malaysia which follows the Sunni Islam, considered as moderate. This is followed by the Mufti having formal power to restrict propagation of different teachings of Islam and declare that it is “heretical”.

Presently, states have exclusive rights to determine Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic law of their own. Islamic jurisprudence falls under the purview of the Mufti of

respective states and their Kings. Now, the Bill sets a strict requirement for the appointment of the Mufti to be those who adhere to the specific Muslim theological school of Ash'ari and Maturidi under Sunni Islam.
